92.237, but things are going quite well. Had it up to 94K+ at one point. Then I reordered some interior chapters to make the build up to St. Agnes Eve flow better (duh, that one was obvious), made SA's threat to OW more of a sneak attack, as it were, and I tell you, I got nervous and anxious reading it. I tweaked that bad boyTW, added a chapter and deleted another. On a read-through, I didn't feel a sag/nagging problem until just about page 150 or so, and the stuff mentioned above fixes that. I hope. I am now on a search and destroy mission for stuff where, when I was reading it, I thought it lacked set-up. (and I am quite pleased that I was able to apply my own rules of writing to the issue and not only identify the problem but have an immediate clue as to the solution.) Which will be part of the point of the print-off cooling on my desk right now. I need to read the chapters with the new organization and check for continuity. Plus, I am still stressed and freaked out about other parts of my life which are not fodder for dicussion here. Also, apropos of not much, I would like to know why someone (who is not me, but who I was reading about on a RWA-related website) with 10 books to their name has a job besides writing. This is also freaking me out because I want to write full time and if people with lots of books can't do it, how can I?

93, 737. Have reordered a bit of the opening. Added the dog earlier. Eliminated some redundancy in information presented. Strange how it's so dang hard to take one's own advice. Am in general tired and stressed. But today the writing is going well. sigh I just wish I were better at this. The beady-eyed genius sort from whom writing flows as if from a font of well-formed and grammatical sentences expressing an exciting plot.

Should have an updated word count tomorrow when I finished putting in the edits from the last paper read-through. Parts are really good, but there's some sag in the middle, which I think I fixed and a couple of scenes where seems like nothing's going on, but I'll be fixing those, too. The end is in place and works. I really, really like it.

About 90K now and I'm now making the kind of changes that really, really make this sizzle. Yay. Development of Emily's story going well.
