Things that irriate me

An author hired some third party promotion service that put me on her mailing list WITHOUT my permission. I suppose she's not aware of what the company she hired is doing, which is illegal (can you say Can Spam Act?) and unethical. Sigh and irritating. Consigned to trash and further emails from this person blocked.

In other news, my son took this career assessment test and apparently his number one job is a Thoroughbred Trainer. He has NO interest in horses and when he was given the opportunity to work with the neighbor's thoroughbreds a while back, he was a big fat no when asked. His comment about his Number One career: Horses? But they're like big and stuff.

Thoroughbred trainer? Only horse nuts ever become trainers for crying out loud! Why would anyone in their right mind suggest a non-horse nut should become a horse trainer? He could also be a a Park Ranger. (Great, he'll get shot by some pot farmer in Humboldt County) or a vet's assistant. Let's see, he's an honor student and off the charts in most of his math assessments. And he should be a Vet assistant? He hates math, however. So exactly why isn't the school telling him about jobs he could have that would speak to his mathematical skills? There are things that he'd be good at without even having to work hard.

Oh dear. I'm getting hot under the collar again. I'm sorry.

I'm going to go get some work done.

OMG, I got this same SPAM. I actually sent an email (a nice email) to the author letting her know that someone was inappropriately harvesting emails. (This one was a private email address that is never used to subscribe to ANYTHING). I also sent an email to the distributor alerting them to the abuse. So far, no one has responded.

GRRRRRRR.

I'd love to know who did this. It would be VERY hard to get the particular email address that was used for me.

I share your pain.

I was thinking of emailing her and letting her know she's not being served well by this company.

Imagine how many other people are similarly upset. I think Patti O'Shea got the spam too.
