In A Mood

I didn't sleep well last night. I stayed up too late, for one thing, and then didn't really sleep. Rats. I read Janet Evanovich's newest Stephanie Plum story Lean, Mean Thirteen and laughed pretty darn hard. Very funny. I bought a bunch of books, I couldn't resist them. More on that later. In the middle of not sleeping well, I woke up going, Oh my gosh! Sophie's brother dies. Sophie being the heroine of Scandal. On my way home from work today, the notion solidified even more, so now I'm off to cause my heroine tremendous emotional pain.

Is this considered a spoiler? Will I too be subjected to significant emotional pain? I kinda sorta wish I hadn't read this, especially since I rather liked him in his brief appearance in the excerpt on your website. OTOH, Mary Balogh's "Slightly Married" opens with the heroine learning of her brother's death, and I must admit it packed a huge emotional wallop (but then Balogh at her best is a goddess).

No, I don't think it's a spoiler. It's too early in the book writing process. Gosh only knows at this point what stays in.

Slightly Married was my favorite of Balogh's Slightly series. I fell in love with Aiden the minute she described him standing there, about to deliver the awful news. Oh, it was wonderful. You're right, Balogh at her best is a goddess.
