Reporting In

I've been having Magellan's Witch read back to me (using Text Aloud). It's a great way to catch typos, repetition of subject matter, words, phrases and other awkwardness and just plain boring parts. When it's working, you can feel it. While I'm listening, I have my file open so I can fix things right away. I've got one spot I need to go over and fix up a bit, and last night I added a kind of unexpected bit. I'll have to have that chapter reread today. And I swapped the order of two chapters. I'm pretty sure things are coming together. Back to work.

Hey I just wanted to say I love the crimson city series! I also wanted to say that your book A Darker Crimson kicked some major butt. That Lath was a freakin hottie!

When you say you're having it read back to you, do you mean someone is actually reading it out loud to you, or that you're playing some voice recognition type program that's converted your text to audio?

KT: Thanks so much! I thought Lath was a hottie too. I think you'll really like the book I'm finishing up now -- Magellan's Witch, unless the title changes. Thanks again for making my day!

Jaye:

I use a voice recognition program called Text Aloud and paid a fairly small amount of money for one of the high quality voices. My total investment was $60.00. Worth it. It helps me a lot.

Wow. That is totally cool. Thanks for the link.

ahem.

While I'm here.... do you have another Historical Romance in the works? The Rake? I have both of your other historicals on my keeper shelf, love them to bits.

Jaye: Yes, I have two historicals contracted. The first will be Scandal, which was formerly titled The Rake) It will be out from Berkley Books sometime late 2008. Scandal will be an awesome book. The second historical is slated for late 2009, and doesn't yet have a title. I'm glad you liked Lord Ruin and The Spare. Thanks for letting me know!
