More More Fun With Words!

Proposalgia: n. (propose · al · GEEyah). An extreme fixation on proposals known to be sitting on an editor's desk. One symptom is an inability to rationally assess the passage of time. A writer suffering from proposalgia commonly mistakes 24 hours as reasonable period of time in which to asses a proposal. Another more serious manifestation of this disease is the conviction that the proposal is being set on fire in a ladies room somewhere in New York City. Frequent moans and groans accompanied by sweating and nervous tics are a hallmark of this disorder. No, sweetie, that's not a ghost you hear. That's a writer with proposalgia. Just ignore her.

I blame the previous post on proposalgia.

I'm sure, if you look hard enough, Miss Snark will have something to say on just how long it might take for an editor to review a proposal...and I bet the answer is anywhere from a day to three months. Doesn't make it easier, but I bet this is usual.
I have proposalgia so that means I'm going nuts 24 hours, 3 months, who cares? [Insert disaster dream here, a different one for every day that passes]
