More late night thoughts

It's Thursday, school night, so I'm just now home. All wound up, of course. I've gotten some good work done on The Rake lately. Honest. The chapters are de-messifying and hanging together well now. I'm working on another short that is taking up a lot of my mental downtime. The other day, at a veeerrry boooorring and long meeting at which I had only to listen and pretend to look at a powerpoint presentation, I mentally checked out and did thought-work for the short. Interesting experience and, in my opinion, a good use of an otherwise hideously dull and mind-sapping stretch of time. I found myself quite irritated if some point caught my attention and took me out of my mental exercise. I wrote two whole scenes in my head. And then I went home and did them for real, AFTER I worked hard on the Rake.

YAY work on the rake!!!My congrats on ignoring boring things at work. Since switching to education (I am a psychologist) I have been amazed at the workshops in which they feel compelled to not only put powerpoint on the screen but then to read it to us all.HELLO!!!!! You checked the diploma when you hired us...
Oh well..if it were fun theyd neevr pay us to do it!

Powerpoint is a scourge on this earth. And people who read you the [bad word starting with F]ing powerpoint should be forced to eat sawdust for lunch for the number of days equal to the combined number of bullets in their slides.

And the scariest?? To renew my license for the Board of Ed I had to take a computer class focused on Powerpoint.......they want to expand its use in the schools. WE have enough reasons kids drop out, lets leave that one out!
I love your idea...
