Today, amid the continuing crisis in the Gulf Coast, I got an email from someone in Indonesia. He's apparently read my books, or knows someone who has, I suppose, and he wrote me the sweetest email in less than perfect words, saying he was worried about me and my family becuase of the hurricane. He wanted to know if I was OK and he said he was touched by the tragedy. So, to anyone and everyone who's affected, people do care. They really do.

It made my day. My week. Maybe just everything.
