I forgot to mention that on Thursday while I was mostly in a feverish state and sleeping off and on, I kept dreaming about The List and now I know the rest of the book. Having read my materials on Forgery and learned that forging banknotes during the restriction period was a hanging offense, it's plain that poor PE needs to be in danger of being hanged. And, I swear, when I hauled myself out of bed today, feeling yukky as all get out, I kept thinking, NO! That can't happen to my heroine, that's just awful! Slapping self. It's a book, you idiot! If there's nothing at stake, no one cares! Sheesh!
